The Military Ball

Yea. That one.

Some wives really looking forward to this military event and some wives absolutely dread it.

I got an email from my FRG leader a couple of weeks ago. It was filled with homecoming information (yay!), leave information (even bigger ya!) and ball information (yech).

You may think that I fall into the category that dreads this time honored tradition.

You would be half wrong.

I do love getting all dolled up in a gorgeous dress, new shoes and feeling like a princess, but I do despise the yawn portions (AKA the beginning, I like to get to the party).

Anywho, I got the email and forwarded it to my husband.

Mat is one of those soldiers who wants to set a good example for his guys even if it means doing something he doesn't want to do. I knew what his response would be when I sent the email, I don't even know why I bothered asking...

"I don't want to go, but it would look good for me and to my guys if I went."

Such a good NCO.

The ball is in May but that didn't stop me from dress, shoe, bag, jewelry and hair hunting. The tailspin began and here I am, a few weeks later, and I have about everything together.

Yup. It's early. But with homecoming happening soon, leave and our trip to Jamaica, I knew that if I didn't do it now, it all fall to the wayside and I would be coming back from Jamaica with a week to get everything together.

I went online and found a website called EricDress. (No, they aren't paying me for this, nor do I think they would ever know I'm blogging about them. Before I knew more about the website, I found a dress I fell in love with, had to have, it was on sale and before I knew it, I ordered it.

Then. I read the reviews, totally backwards, so I sat here watching the website, waiting to find when my dress would ship, if it would ship, and when it would get here.

To my surprise, my dress showed up about 8 days after I ordered which was shocking considering they have an 8-12 day processing time frame.

I was nervous when it got here, I didn't know what I would be getting based on the reviews, but when I opened it, it was perfect!

What I ordered

What I got
I know this is a knock off site but I am quite pleased!

I also ordered my shoes and purse, those were found on Amazon.

My shoes - Chinese Laundry

My clutch. It's so unique, I instantly fell in love.
There you have it.

My jewelry will come later, I haven't decided quite on what I will wear, I know I won't have a necklace and I have a pair of earrings that I know will look good that I just bought so... We will see what happens there.

While I somewhat dread this, I am looking forward to it because what girl doesn't love dressing up?

  1. What a beautiful dress! I've ordered things online, too, where I wondered if they'd ever show up;) P.S I'm in your SITS Girls Tribe.
